Onย Thursday, March 8th, WomenatthecentrE’sย director of community Vivien Green and executive director Nneka MacGregorย were invited to attend the Womenโs College & CAMH presentation on ย their ‘Report of the Advisory Committee on Co-Occurrence of DV, Mental Health and Addictions’ ย with Dr. Robin Mason.
WomenatthecentrE held a memorial for VAW advocate & activist Ellen Pence, who passed away on January 6th after a battle with cancer. She was a true friend to the organization and an inspirational force.

From January 8th to the 19th, our executive director Nneka MacGregor made up part of a group of intrepid climbers from across Canada to embark on the Outward Bound 2012 Kilimanjaro Climb, to raise money for the Women Of Courage programme.

On Saturday, November 19th WomenatthecentrE’s Brampton chapter held a press conference with board members Dr. Kuljeet Cheema & Esther Gieringer. The conference was to start a frank dialogue around violence against women in the South Asian community, and to officially launch the Brampton chapter of the organization.
WomenathecentrE held our first ever Sisterhood in Action event at our offices, where we gathered a number of members as well as our board, to discuss ways for us as an organization to support each other and support the work of the organization. The full day workshop lead to some fantastic feedback!
On November 8th and 9th, board member Dr. Tope Adefarakan participated in a think tank on behalf of WomenatthecentrE for Lukeโs Place/Action Ontarienne, held at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
