📢Poverty in Canada is systemic and growing. Nearly 1.4 million children — 1 in 5 — live in poverty, with lone-parent, Indigenous, racialized, immigrant, and child welfare–involved families, among other, most affected.

Over 1.5 million Canadians with disabilities live in poverty — a rate twice as high as non-disabled adults — while the Canada Disability Benefit remains inadequate.

In 2024, 10 million Canadians — 1 in 4 — faced food insecurity, houselessness nearly doubled since 2018, and income inequality hit record highs, with the top 10% earning 18× more than the bottom 10%.
