Nashwa’s Biography

Nashwa Lina Khan is a Moroccan-Pakistani multidisciplinary artist, researcher, writer, podcaster, and community organizer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Her work sits at the intersections of disability justice, gender-based violence prevention, sexual and reproductive health, migration, racial justice, and feminist community-based research. She has worked across research, advocacy, arts, and knowledge mobilization with a focus on centring the lived expertise of women, girls, gender-diverse people, disabled people, survivors, and racialized communities. Grounded in community-based research and knowledge mobilization, Nashwa believes everyone is a researcher when given the right tools, relationships, and conditions to ask questions, tell stories, and build collective knowledge.

She also hosts and produces the podcast Habibti Please, where she explores culture, politics, memory through a feminist and decolonial lens.
