Shelly-Ann’s Biography

Shelly-Ann Skinner is a proud Black Queer parent, architect, community organizer, and freedom dreamer dedicated to building a world rooted in systemic equity and collective liberation. Guided by a deep commitment to anti-oppressive practice, she brings over 15 years of experience in non-profit leadership and governance to her work. As the Human Relations Coordinator for the Beyond Surviving project at WomenatthecentrE, Shelly-Ann focuses on developing organizational policies and collective frameworks that prioritize the humanity, well-being, and safety of survivors.

To move beyond surviving, we must embrace freedom dreaming as a core practice. It is about giving ourselves permission to look past the boundaries of our current reality, define our own collective voice, and boldly carve out a new path forward on our own terms.
